Choosing a System That is Incompatible With Your Likes/Dislikes
Many people choose a diet plan that they have no chance of staying on. They defeat themselves before they even start! Remember that even the best, most physiologically sound diet and exercise program is useless if you will be unable to follow it consistently.
Do not fall into the trap of thinking, “Well, I’ll just be good for the next twelve weeks or so, and then…” As soon as you get off of the program, you will regain the weight you lost (with interest).
To lose weight healthfully is a marathon, not a sprint.
Before you embark on your diet program, ask yourself whether what is asked of you in the program is feasible with your current lifestyle.
Do you have the time to follow everything to a “T”?
Does it fit in with your job/ career?
To what length can you adjust your routine and lifestyle so that you’re not uncomfortable and out of your zone?
Are there ways to make the transitions easier for you (i.e., getting a food delivery service if you’re too busy to prepare your own meals)?
Taking the extra time to hash out these steps can mean the difference between success and failure.
