Keep an eye on "the little things” that prevent weight loss

 

The little things we do day in and day out are what make us or break us.  The same is true for weight loss

 

Here are some examples of how making small changes can dramatically affect fat loss...


Condiments are sometimes very valuable additions to a diet in that they can make some healthy but bland foods taste better. However, many condiments are condensed calories that don’t fill you up.

 

Just 2 tablespoons of mayonnaise contains 198 calories! Switching from mayo to mustard will save you nearly 170 calories with each whole-wheat turkey sandwich you eat.


Here in NYC, it is taken for granted that everyone heads down to their local Starbucks at 4pm for a little afternoon “pick-me-up.”  However, their little indulgence is costing them.  A daily Mocha Frappuccino costs you almost 300 calories!  Over a month, that small caloric excess will result in a fat gain of almost two pounds.


How many calories does breading and frying a chicken breast add? 

 

Nearly 100 calories for the same serving size!
 

Don’t worry if you feel like you’re only taking small steps towards fat loss.  The additions of these small steps, consistently over time are what will ensure that you will be successful over the long term.
