Quick- fix blunder: Skipping meals to lose weight faster
It is not uncommon for dieters (especially female dieters) to consume only one or two meals a day, thinking that the low caloric intake will accelerate their weight loss. What this will do is accelerate their muscle loss and decrease their metabolisms.
Here is your mantra: I will not skip meals, no matter what.
Commit this statement to memory and repeat it to yourself at least 5 times a day! This seemingly asinine exercise is actually one of your best allies in fat loss.
You see, by skipping meals, you allow your body to slip into “starvation mode”, which sets off a cascade of hormonal reactions that have one goal in mind – to slow your metabolism to a crawl and to maintain your fat stores at all costs!
This is the exact opposite of what you want if you’re looking to lose inches around your midsection.
You may be tempted to skip meals to speed up fat loss, since cutting out meals insures you won’t eat anything “bad for you.”
This will undercut your efforts and only hurt you in the long run.
